Je suis arrivée à Paris...

So I arrived yesterday.

Hopped on the RER B to Cité Universitaire expecting them to say they never got my reservation, there was no record of me, I wasn’t registered for classes at the university, etc. and basically I could not stay there.

Not to worry though. The man at the desk simply smiled, asked for my passport, and handed me my key. (sigh of relief) My room basically looks like a Victorian chamber. Ever seen the Secret Garden? Super high ceiling, stone floors, huge windows, desk, sink(!), sufficient closet space, and best of all it’s a single! In short, I’m happy.

Call me vain, but I didn’t forget a single favorite outfit or pair of shoes…BUT I left my camera charger. Typical, I know, I know. Speaking of fashion, I was expecting Paris to be slightly more reminiscent of Williamsburg or the East Village, but here men wear polos and loafers, converses, etc. and ladies just like to coordinate. Then again I haven’t travelled outside of Montparnasse, so I guess I can’t really judge just yet. In any case, Parisians like to look good.

Here’s the Wikipedia page of the neighborhood I’m in and where I’m staying:

The campus is sooooo beautiful and the neighborhood seems really safe. It reminds me of Morningside Heights a little bit. There’s a park across the street and everything seems to be within walking distance. Ne vous inquiétez pas (don’t worry guys) I’ll take more pics as soon as I figure out this camera situation.

A plus,

Avril
